Snuffed out Fire

And then the wind came
Took away its soul
Never going to come again
Never going to show
Merciless and pointless was the fire's death
It didn't even have a chance
Against the evil's breath
It burned so brightly and calmly
Never bothering a soul
Then that fateful day occurred
And now it has been crushed
Crushed like the leaves on a crisp autumn day
Under your feet as you say
How wonderful life is.
