The Run-Away Half

I’m the book without pages
I’m the movie with no plot
A sandwich minus the bread
Yeah I miss him a lot
My heart feels empty
But my head is spinning fast
The day is hollow as a drum
How long with this beat last
I thought you really loved me
But it was a lie
You said you didn’t want to hurt me
Then why did you make me cry?
The way you used to hold me
Like no one ever had
When I smelled you from across the room
Or your simple smile, made me glad
Now I’m lost without you
I feel I’ve lost who I am
You were always there to help me
When I was stuck in life’s jam
People all race by
Caught up in their own lives
The language they keep talking
Sounds like a buzz from a beehive
A candy without taste
I am emptied from all
There’s no one left to talk to
When I need my mid-night call.
