Looking Back

You’re asking how to feel,
How to act, how to fight.
You’re wondering how to live,
How to hide, how to survive.

You’re thinking that I’m strong,
That I’m a believer, that I’m never wrong.
You’re pretending everything is fine,
Everything is ok everything is right.

You’re questioning why this happened,
Why to you, why this end.
You’re losing your laugh,
Your mind, your path.

You’re choosing to forget,
To not look back, to reset.
You’re forgetting the place,
The time, the taste.

You’re changing who you are,
Who you meet, who sees your heart.
You’re crying because you loved,
Because you hurt, because you lost.

You’re holding on to faith,
To hope, to grace.
Your hoping someone is there,
Someone listens, someone cares.

You’re letting go of all tears,
All pains, all fears.
You’re missing the fall,
The feeling, the all.

But were you ever loving,
Ever remembering ever forgiving?
