The Cost Of Life

The cost of life is pain and tears
This cost is far too small
For if there were a million more
I'd live and take them all
The cost of life is all this hate
That these life's days do endure
The cost of life is hellish greif
Upon which bears no cure
We live this life with but our costs
Of a penny, maybe two
A toll booth waiting, round the bend
Your bill is overdue
And when we rack up, with dispair
Our life may have such more
For those that cannot bear with us
Leave their life, cold, on the floor
Our life has costs, it's waiting here
For a payment, soon to come
And whether or not you like that cost
It's one you can't run from
But the cost of my life is all my thoughts
That I could not explain
The people that I couldn't touch
Those who I have left in pain
The cost of life is all those souls
That watched as my soul left
I met the cost of life that day
As I took my final breath
It cost me all this pain and tears
Too small? I took the test
I failed to life's true final cost
For the cost of life is death
