The Way we Play

As the world turns.
As my bedside candle burns.
As the baby blue sky
Turns to deep, velvet blue at midnight.
I say I could lay like this forever,
As I contemplate your treasure.
I have tried so many times,
But tonight, you’re all mine.

Changing my mind…
forever’s a long time…
But I do like the way we roll around.
Listening to our noises, I am happy with the sound.
So, I am satisfied that you belong to someone else.
But I thank you for the night you made my heart melt.

As the world keeps on turning,
New adventures will be emerging,
I can only hope with all sincerity,
They taste half as sweet as your honey.
