Her Passing

She must have been infected or cursed by the stars
Too young to know why, she was learning to cry
To cope with the ivy's that were stuck in her veins
And her face, with a smile, taking all the pain

We thought her chest pains weren't a warning sign
Grandma's don't die, they live forever and ever
As we took her for granted, cancer was eating her heart
And her soul was leaking life altogether
