Drowning

Just when my castle is complete,
the waves roll in and it’s destroyed by the sea.
Struggling through the halls of life.
Apparently far from getting my slice,
of that pie everyone speaks of.
Trying to stay focused, trying to be good.
It’s so easy to give up.
Easy way out, run to the greedy men.
Seeing the hunger in their eyes,
Their dirty hands on my thighs.
Will I be able to look in the mirror?
My mind already full of horror.
But what the hell is the point of trying?
What lessons am I learning?
Everyday living, getting closer to dying.
