Choice Retired

Two roads, two lanes
A pair of arms stretched
Too low the sun wanes
A dusk in sky well etched

A choice to walk to run
Two selections present
One me can’t help but shun
To lesser or loser I lament

To choose one and lose another
A loss I may not willingly take
I like the one; I like the other
A sorry way for a heart to break

Two loves and a painful outcome
To pick the wrong I will regret
Too much dwelling do I succumb?
To pain of choice no destiny preset

A challenge of mind and spirit
A test of faith and all desired
A chance that made me fear it
A turn I lost and the choice retired
