Gazing downward

I'm a star
burning my life away
See me shine from afar but you can't reach me, nor have you the
stupidity to try.
My irredescence flickering,
A fading gleam crawling in and out of the darkness.
Soon i will burn out--
no longer can the gloom of cloudy nights hide my tiny glow
or blind my view of the rest of this solar wilderness.
These clouds, and this gloom:
they shield me from my weaknesses, and from those who caused this.
I'll retreat from reality
when i fade away.
Who will notice?
There are so many other stars for you to lose within the city lights.
