Dream It All Away

I knew this little girl
Back when I was young
We'd spend our days together
Dreaming of what we'd become
I knew this little girl
Back when we had time
Just me, and her, and a drifting life
She had hers, and I had mine
I knew this little girl
I wish you knew her, too
I could of used some help
I could have used the truth
Back when she needed answers
And when I needed words
I couldn't contemplate my own demise
While contemplating hers
I tried, and tried, I tried my best
And blame my failed attempts
I couldn't do it, after all these years
But I never would have guessed
That both our lifes came crumbling
Atop my lost efforts
A future, once beloved in time
Would become one of the worst
But me, being me, I'll think about her
And wish to her the best
-I'll love you still, before myself
As I, too, become depressed
But you have a much better plan
One that cannot fail
Your dreams become your life
Your tears shall leave no trail
Your words shall leave no bitter hearts
Your enemies will fall
Your life will seem much happier
No more hate, do you recall
But I am stuck within this life
I am stuck in yours
I hope you see me, in your dreams
As I'll see you, for sure
I could never ponder me
Before I ponder you
I could never live a dream
And forget what we've been through
I'll live my life, beside your bed
I know you'll wake up soon
What will you say, to yesterday?
Or scream, "Please dreams, resume!"
I wish I lived a dream like yours
Where we could be in harmony
As I recall our childhood
We were always meant to dream
Everything that we had known
Was sadly, for the worst
Memories, of hate, and tears
While swimming through a curse
Just children, were we both, those days
Wanting to be free
A broken home, a shattered life
Drowned, in misery
But tonight is all for you
Tommrows not so clear
Maybe when you wake up
I'll follow you in tears
Maybe you will wake up
And find me fast asleep
I cried all day, and night, for you
But in my dreams I shall not weep
Though I will say to you
That I am not disgraced
Your dreams will not displease my heart
Only the tears upon my face
So dream my pretty, dream my sweet
Dream your life away
For when you wake up, from your dreams
You'll scream for yesterday
Dream my pretty, dream my sweet
Dream away the night
Pass the time, inside your mind
Tis there you have a life
