My Innocence

Why must I lie to myself,
I know the truth.
Who I have become,
No one wants to be.
Once an innocent child,
Full of life and light...
Now a girl torn inside and out,
Of sin and lack thereof.
Love is not everything,
Nor money, nor power.
The goodness to yourself,
One who must be most merciful.
Who beholds my most darkest secrets,
Who I am, throughout.
I will become myself again,
This girl in me, ripped out.
