She paints her face with painstaking care,
But under the mask lies a face oh so rare.
Her magazines full of skinny perfect imaging,
She chooses an outfit that is even more slimming.
Her small frame wastes away under strict dieting,
But the news is in and anorexia’s the thing.
Listening carefully for the words she should speak,
Forming her opinions on what others think.
All the while her precious innocence,
Is being washed away by all the pettiness.
She’ll walk through life as someone she’s not.
She’ll kill herself if they say that it’s hot.
