"despair"

The nights air was heavy,
filled with endless depair.
The graveyard stood before me,
holding more pain than I could bare.
Leaves danced to an empty songs pace,
as I walked towards you,
to something I couldn't face.
As I stared deep into your headstone,
all I saw was our memories.
All I've ever known,
was buried within these stories.
Begging for mercy, I fell to the wet grass,
and rested my head next to yours,
waiting for this loneliness to pass.
It hasn't been the same without you,
this agony is more than I can take.
I don't know what to do,
kill me God, for my soul's sake.
