Girl Meets Girl

A strange new feeling deep inside,
As she slowly walks on by.
Thoughts of her linger in my head,
But society’s chanting “you like boys instead”
Why must we place limits on our love?
This creature could only be sent from above.
The look in her eyes leaves me no place to hide.
A feeling so strong cannot be denied.
Genders aside as we lay together,
It is only the inner person we should treasure.
If I had closed my mind to things that were new,
I would never have found a love so true.
