Creepy, crawling spider climbing down my wall.
Looking at her many legs, running through my hall.
She looks up at me with eyes so very small.
I look back and say, “you don’t belong in here at all!”
I place her on a napkin to try and set her free.
Out of my home, and far away from me!
I try to reassure her that right outside my home,
Is plenty of open space for her to freely roam.
She looks at me pleading and tries to jump to the floor,
As if it were a scary place right outside my door.
Once outdoors I realized though, the fear she had expressed.
The crowdedness, pollution, and greed left me also distressed.
I quickly ran inside, and slammed the door shut.
Safe inside my home, just the two of us.
We came to an agreement then, her and I.
She didn’t creep to close to me,
And she could live inside.
Until we stop polluting our one sacred home,
Creatures great and small will have no place to roam.
Until that long awaited day, that we all realize,
Fixing our earth will take some sacrifice,
I will open up my world as a refuge,
And continue to convey that change starts with you.
