Eyes of an Angel

She had those kind of eyes
That could level you to your feet
Destroy all that's there
Destroying what she pleased

To wake up every morning
Only to cry a tear
Not for a thought of sadness
But for a love I couldn’t fear

God had opened the heavens
And let an angel go
Gave me something greater
Than this life will ever know

You know you’re never perfect
But she’s perfection to these eyes
Eyes, which see the beauty
Sees the truth in all my lies

I never felt this happy
I never knew this life
Never understood...
That I could be an angel to her eyes

If you never know the pain
Or the agony of its loss
When the angel flies away
Having realized loves only cost

So she had those kind of eyes
That brought me to my knees
Gave me reason to cry
For simply loving me

As she flies away
I reach across the sky
Yet I don’t regret a thing
And cry a tear, hoping to die
