A boy named Willie Makit , was playing by the river
There he saw a catfish , that called him chicken liver
The fish spit water in his eyes, and then it swam away
Willie said I'll be right back, then it's my turn to play
He grabbed the boards behind the shed, left there by his dad
He thought of what that fish said, and that made him very mad
With a hammer and some nails, he built himself a boat
Then he took it to the river, and in the middle sat afloat
When the fish started up again , Willie turned beat red
He grabbed a board from his boat , and smacked it in the head
He took it home and cooked , it in a great big pot
Then he put it on the table , when it was good and hot
He suddenly remembered , as it sat there in a dish
I wish that I could eat you, but I just hate the taste of fish
