That Girl

The bed was cold this morning,
You lingered from a dream,
I hugged the pillow, cried my tears,
and went about my day.

I saw your eyes this afternoon,
In another womans face,
I closed my heart and turned away,
From a girl I can't forsake.

I sit alone this evening,
And I watch my food go cold,
Oh, how I wish that you where here,
Mine, to have and hold.

And as I sleep this very night,
In my dreams you do return,
We laugh and joke in that way we did,
But tomorrow you'll be gone.
