To Die Another Day

I look into this blackend heart
And feel no pain within
No beat
No sound
No strength of warmth
Only the stale taste of the cold

Left only to wonder
And unable to see
As the tears fall heavy to the floor
Believing it's falling
But a guess just the same
It's all we have left to give

So many questions
I have left to hear
But I've grown weary and old
No longer can I smile
or even give heart
For death feels of icy and cold

I'll walk in the shadows
When you think I can't see
But I'll see more than you think
With silhouettes dancing
Behind a black night
Dark figures glowings with light

Tasting the blood
A forbidden passion
That's never to be seen by these eyes
Watch as the pool
Grows deeper before me
As I slowly slip from this life

Still crying for pictures
And knowing the secrets
A past man I once knew
Left looking in the mirror
Peering past the reflection
Deiscovering something that I didn't know

Now still here quitely
Alone in the night
Without a single word to say
Caught in the instant
Of my last cigarette
Perhaps I will die another day
